Credit Card payments give you more flexibility by allowing you to pay for card purchases later, helping you manage your cash flow more effectively
This feature is available to eligible Qonto accounts that meet our risk and compliance requirements. Eligibility is assessed continuously based on your account health, payment history, and business activity. Even if you are not eligible today, your eligibility may change over time as your account activity evolves.
☝️Good to know: Credit Card is available on both 💻 web and 📱 mobile for accounts that meet the eligibility criteria.
What makes me eligible for Credit Card payments?
To be eligible for Credit Card, your Qonto account must meet several criteria that help us ensure responsible lending:
- Supported countries: Your Qonto account’s country must support the credit card feature (currently available in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and the Netherlands)
- Role requirement: Available to corporate officers only (owner or admin)
- Account in good standing: Your Qonto account must be active with no restrictions
- Complete verification: Identity verification (KYC) and company verification (KYB) must be fully completed
- Clean payment record: No recent unpaid or overdue amounts with Qonto
- Healthy account activity: Positive payment history and regular account usage
- Supported business sector: Your business activity must be within our supported sectors
- Sufficient turnover: Observed account turnover and positive usage patterns that meet our thresholds
☝️ Meeting these general criteria does not automatically guarantee access. Eligibility depends on a holistic review of your account and can be adjusted at any time to protect both you and Qonto.
💡 Connecting an external bank account can improve eligibility chances and increase the credit limit for the credit card.
What would make me ineligible for Credit Card payments?
Certain account conditions will prevent you from accessing Credit Card :
- Incomplete verification: Missing or pending KYC (identity) or KYB (company) information
- Payment issues: Recent incidents, late payments, or chargebacks on your account
- Risk signals: Account activity or risk indicators that fall outside our internal policy thresholds
If you previously had access to Credit Card but it is no longer available, it typically means that recent account activity or risk signals have changed your eligibility status.
How does Qonto assess my eligibility?
Eligibility is determined through a combination of automated and ongoing assessments:
- Automated checks: Our system runs risk and compliance checks to evaluate your account
- Account review: We review your account tenure, cash flows, transaction patterns, and repayment history
- Continuous monitoring: Eligibility is reassessed regularly to keep your access up to date based on current account health
This ongoing monitoring means your eligibility status can change over time—both positively and negatively—based on how your account evolves.
How can I check if I'm eligible?
To see if Credit Card is available on your account:
- Go to Business account > Cards in your Qonto app (available on both 💻 web and 📱 mobile).
- If you see the option to order a Credit Card, your account is eligible.
You will see your eligibility status when you start creating a new card. You can check again later, as eligibility may change as your account activity evolves.
What should I do if I lose access to Credit Card payments?
If you previously had access to Credit Card but can no longer see the feature:
- Check for outstanding issues: You may temporarily lose access if you have overdue repayments or if risk signals on your account have changed
- Resolve any problems: Address any outstanding payments or account issues promptly
- Maintain healthy activity: Continue using your account responsibly with regular, positive activity
- Automatic reassessment: Eligibility is monitored continuously, so once issues are resolved, you may regain access automatically
If you believe you should be eligible but don't have access, contact Customer Care directly from your Qonto app for personalized assistance.
Loss of eligibility across all Qonto financing products
Failing to meet repayment obligations on any Qonto financing product can result in losing access to all of them simultaneously. You will lose eligibility for Credit Card, Pay later, and Overdraft at once if any of the following occurs:
- Your Credit card repayment is not settled by the required date
- You fail to repay a Pay later installment within 5 days of the due date
- Your account remains in overdraft for 6 or more consecutive days
Once eligibility is lost under these conditions, it cannot be restored.
