INTERBANK CLOSURE DAYS 2026

  • Updated

What are public holidays and interbank closures?

These are exceptional days which have a direct impact on your banking transactions and extend the execution delays of your transfers.

What are the days of interbank closures in 2026?

From one year to the next, the public holidays impacted by interbank closures vary. Here are the interbank closing days in 2025:

  • Thursday January 1st (New Year's Day)

  • Friday April 3rd (Good Friday)

  • Monday April 6th (Easter Monday)

  • Friday May 01st mai (Labor day)

  • Friday December 25th (Christmas)

🌟In case of emergency, you will still be able to send and receive instant transfers on these days!

Holidays not impacted by interbank closures

Your transfers will be executed normally:

  • Friday May 8th (Victory day)

  • Thursday May 14th (Ascension)

  • Monday May 25th (Pentecost Monday)

  • Tuesday July 14th (National day)

  • Wednesday November 11t (Armistice)

How to anticipate this exceptional situation?

Standard transfers created on these days will be scheduled and executed the following business day. Note that instant transfers are available 7 days a week and allow you to pay your beneficiary within 10 seconds!

💡Make your standard transfers as early as possible in the preceding week before 10:30 a.m. so that they are executed the same day.

What if I’m sending overseas? If you are sending via the SWIFT platform, your ability to effect an international transfer may be subject to local banking holidays in the country you are sending to.

What should I know about capital deposits/business creations during the year-end closures?

French notaries cannot process bank transfers from January 1st to 5th each year due to administrative closures.

If you are finalizing a business creation or capital deposit at the end of December, here's what to expect:

  • Receiving documents: No problem, you can receive your KBIS (French business registration certificate) and official documents during this period!
  • Releasing funds: Notaries will not be able to release your funds to your Qonto account between January 1st and 5th.
  • Realistic timeframe: With standard processing times, your funds will be available around January 8th at the earliest.

⚠️ Plan your cash flow: taking this extended timeframe into account if you are finalizing a capital deposit or business creation at the end of December.
