My Qonto IBAN isn’t recognised by another bank — what can I do?

  • Updated

Some traditional banks use outdated IBAN databases. When you try to make a transfer to your Qonto account, you may see an error saying that your IBAN (or BIC/SWIFT) is not valid.

What should I do first?

  1. Try entering your BIC without the final three “X” (e.g., QNTOFRP1)
  2. If the error persists, contact the other bank’s support team and ask them to add your Qonto IBAN to their database

What if it still doesn’t work?

We’ll help you find a solution. Ask to speak with an agent via the chat bubble (web or mobile) and share:

  • What you tried to do + the exact error message (a screenshot helps)
  • The name of the bank involved
  • The IBAN or account number of the issuer’s account
  • The transfer details: time, reference, and amount
